Getting your insurance company to cover services

Many insurance companies do not cover Lactation visits directly.  They  require the family to pay directly out of pocket and seek reimbursement from them.  Some families have had difficulty getting reimbursed. IBCLC Rachel O’Brian has written an article to help guide you through the process of seeking reimbursement.

Most private practice lactation consultants do not have support staff to take care of billing insurance, which is why we leave you with a receipt to file with your insurance company.

I am happy to help you jump through the hoops if they deny.
