Insurance Coverage

I have some great news.  I have partnered with Aetna and The Lactation Network in an effort to have lactation consultations covered by your insurance plans.

For Aetna, just call or text me to set up an appointment.  Aetna makes it super easy for parents.  We do all the paperwork!

For patients with BCBS, Cigna, and Anthem, go to the Lactation Network’s form and fill it out so we can connect.  They will get back to you pretty quickly and let you know if we are in-network.

I can also accept HSA and FSA cards.

I have signed with a company that will bill your insurance for you! If we are in-network with your plan, there is nothing you need to do but get that baby to breast!

If we are out of network with your insurance plan, I leave you with what is called a “super-bill” which is a receipt you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Also, HSAs and FSAs fully reimburse your expenses for lactation support. Keep those receipts!

Many insurance companies do not cover Lactation visits directly.  They  require the family to pay directly out of pocket and seek reimbursement from them.  Some families have had difficulty getting reimbursed, it is your right to get reimbursed! This website can offer more information on breastfeeding insurance benifits. IBCLC Rachel O’Brian has written an article to help guide you through the process of seeking reimbursement.

Most private practice lactation consultants do not have support staff to take care of billing insurance, which is why we leave you with a receipt to file with your insurance company.

I am happy to help you jump through the hoops if they deny.
